As you know, TWCA has been working on inclusionary zoning for a long time! After finally coming up at the Planning & Growth Management Committee, a recommendation on the province’s Bill 73 was sent to City Council for its June 10th meeting. TWCA added its voice in correspondence, urging city councillors to support inclusionary zoning.
City Council voted to “request the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to amend Bill 73 to make appropriate reforms to the Planning Act to include permissions for municipalities to enact inclusionary zoning for affordable housing of all types.”
